Events Coordinator

Rescue Animals of North Africa (http://www.ra-na.com) is a UK based charity that rescues animals across Libya and Tunisia and strives to find their “forever home” with loving people within the UK. We are a small charity and we give up our free time because we are passionate about saving animals from the terrible conditions and neglect that they are suffering.

 

Our presence at events, exhibitions, markets, stalls, festivals, fetes and fairs is vital for spreading the message about what we are doing as a charity and for fundraising opportunities.

 

The main aim at these events is to make contacts, network, find possible adopters and fosterers, sell our merchandise and bring in donations through signing people up to the sponsorship scheme.

 

We’re looking for outgoing people who love animals and enjoy interacting with people; an Events Coordinator will take on organisation and promotional duties, being aided by enthusiastic volunteers that would help out on events days.

 

 

Your duties would include:

  • Being responsible for identifying possible events to attend across the country. This includes finding out entry fees, application procedures.

  • Implementing a calendar system so that we can keep track of the events for the future.

  • Heading up recruitment and advertising to find volunteers to run the stalls, keeping track of their information in a database.

  • Sending out the ‘events package’ and ensuring it returns after the event.

  • Speaking with the Event Stall Volunteers after the event to gain feedback, updates on contacts made and donations received at each event and keep track of sales made.

  • Updating spreadsheets and trackers to keep track of RANA merchandise.

  • Working with the Marketing Manager to ensure the RANA presence at the up and coming events was well marketed. 

  • Thinking creatively for each event for ways to make stalls more interactive, get the public involved to increase donations, offers of foster/adoption and interest.

  •  Feeding back to product buyers/product development team on recommendations for new RANA merchandise.

  •  Keeping track of other charities and try to gain ideas and inspiration for new ways of running the events and stalls.

  • Developing ideas and concepts for an independent RANA fundraiser event.

  • Helping out on Social Media if necessary.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Excellent customer care skills.

  • Excellent communication skills; confident talking to the public about what RANA does with a thorough understanding of the animals looking for homes.

  • IT literate.

  • Self-motivated and good team player.

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable manner.

 

 

Event volunteers

​

Your duties would include:

  • Attending events in the local area to coordinate RANA stand and promote the work of RANA.

  • Helping to organise events.

  • Telling people about RANA and encourage them to visit stands at events and support us.

  • Giving out information.

  • Helping to set up and take down stalls at events.

  • Helping to organise local events (this is optional)

  • Money handling

 

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent customer care skills.

  • Good communication skills; confident talking to the public about what RANA does with a basic understanding of the animals looking for homes.

  • Happy to work alone or with others.

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable manner.
