Tafhouna

Tafhouna

Tafouna means "She is lovely" in Tunisian Arabic, which truly sums up this special lady.
Tafouna lived on the streets, the highlight of her day being when Meriam fed her and other strays at night after work. Meriam's plan was to get her neutered and then put her back on the streets (TNR). Sadly, she already has many animals in her home and recognises that she cannot save them all. She also knew that Tafhouna was a kind, sweet dog who kept herself to herself, not bothering anyone.
The day before she was due to return her to the streets after her sterilisation, Meriam heard the gunshots and whimpers from dogs outside. The Municipality were in her area killing all the stray dogs, so she knew returning Tafhouna to the streets would be a death sentence.
Meriam did the only thing she could. Prepared Taffy for adoption and reached out to RANA.
