Pup Oli was hit by a car. The driver didn't stop. Oli was left, injured, on the roadside. He was in such a mess that no-one wanted to approach him. It's thought he was in this way, alone by the side of the road, for an astonishing 2 weeks, before a local volunteer heard about him.
 
Oli was immediatley taken to the vet. He had multiple fractures to one of his hind legs and X-rays showed a 3cm hip displacement. On top of this, a huge abcess had developed on his shoulder. The vet was pessimistic at first, wanting to euthanise him, but after some pressure, he agreed to give Oli a fighting chance. This, however, meant amputating Oli's hind leg.
 
With physiotheraphy Oli slowly learnt how to move around on his three remaining legs. He's recovering well at the moment, but there's a possibility that he may still need a second amputation. Having rescued several other dogs in the past, who have lost up to two legs, but who have gone on to live full and active lives, we knew we wanted Oli to have the same chance of a happy future.
